Theopompus of Chios

• Theopompus of Chios (c.380-c.320 BCE) was a Greek Historian noted for his history of Greece and Philip II. His works are now lost, but were used and quoted by other historians.
• He described Murex as being so expensive that it was worth its weight in Silver.
