Thesis, Antithesis and Synthesis

• Thesis, Antithesis and Synthesis has been adopted across the world as the modern method of expositional writing.
• Although the concept is associated with Hegel’s Dialectical Method of Philosophy, he never used it. Instead he used concrete, abstract and absolute.

Thesis

• The first idea, the thesis, illustrates the point.

Antithesis

• The second idea, the antithesis, contradicts the first idea.

Synthesis

• The third idea, the synthesis, resolves the conflict between the first two ideas, the thesis and the antithesis.
