Troyes

• Troyes, known to the Romans as Augustobonia Tricassium, was the capital of the Tricasses, a Gallic Tribe.
• It is a well preserved medieval French town with a Gothic Cathedral, located approximately 100 miles (160km) southeast of Paris.

Battle of the Catalaunian Plains (451 CE)

• The Battle, also known as the Battle of Chalons, was fought nearby to Troyes and was where the Roman General Flavius Aetius defeated Attila the Hun.
