- ‘King Tut’ has become the most famous of all the Pharaohs, popularising the ‘Curse of the Pharaohs’, with his Mummy being the inspiration behind many horror movies.
Tutankhamun's Tomb
- Today, the Tomb can be visited in the Valley of the Kings at Luxor in Egypt.
- Tutankhamun’s Mummy is back in the Tomb in a sealed glass box to prevent decomposition.

Biography
- Tutankhamun was born in c. 1341 BCE, became Pharaoh at the age of nine, and died when he was 18 years old.
- He reigned for about nine years.
- Tutankhamun’s father was Akhenaten, and his stepmother was Nerfertiti.
- His memory was erased after his death, and his Tomb lost until 1922.
Discovery of Tutankhamun’s Tomb
- His Tomb was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings at Luxor.
- As a result, Tutankhamun became the most famous Pharaoh of them all.
The Finds
- Included in the Finds were:
- A Funerary Gold Mask pf Tutankhamun.
- A Wooden bust of Tutankhamun.
- Tutankhamun’s Mummy in a Golden Sarcophagus.
- Two Royal daggers:
- An Iron Pillow found under his head. The iron has subsequently been identified to have come from a Meteorite.
- A Pectoral with a winged Scarab and Lotus flowers.
- A Pair of Slings.
Worldwide Tour
- A worldwide Tour of the Finds was exhibited in Museums around the world between 1972 and 1979.
- Another Tour ran between 2004 and 2011 and included artefacts from the Tombs of the other Pharaohs.
