Description

• Height from base: 134.5 ft (41m), height alone, 83.5 ft (25.5m). Weight: 331 tons.
• In 37 CE, the Obelisk was brought to Rome by Caligula and erected on the Spina of Circus of Nero (under the Basilica of St.Peter today).
• It was brought from Egypt in Caligula's Giant Ship.
• In 1586 CE, the Obelisk was moved to St. Peter’s Square.
