- A Verb ia a word describing an action in a sentence.
- Verbs have three forms: the Base, the Past, the Past Participle.
Regular verbs
- These are identified by adding -ing to the Base form and -ed to the Past form.
Irregular verbs
- These have different forms for the Past form and the Past Participle.
Adverb
- An adverb is a word used to modify the meaning of a an adjective, verb or other adverb.
- They answer the question How, What, Why, When and Where.
- Examples are: He swam quickly, Slowly, Rapidly, Clumsily, Badly, Diligently, Sweetly, Warmly, Sadly.
Strong verbs
- Strong verbs are associated with Irregular verbs and weak verbs are associated with Regular verbs.
- It depends on how the past tense is formed.
