Vistula Spit

  • The Vistula Spit is a narrow sandbank that separates the Vistula Lagoon from the Gdansk Bay of the Baltic. It is 43 miles long (70km) long and its highest Sand dunes reach a height of 82 feet (25m).
  • The Strait of Baltiysk passes through the sandbank and allows access to the Port of Kaliningrad. The Vistula Spit is divided by the Border between Poland and the Kalinigrad Oblast, making it the westernmost point of Russia.
