Whitchurch

• Whitchurch is a town located on the river Test, 20 miles (30km) north of Shrewsbury, in the County of Shropshire.

History

• Whitchurch was founded as Mediolanum, a Roman fort and town built between 52-70 CE, located on Watling Street between Wroxeter and Chester.
• It is listed in Iter II and Iter X of the Antonine Itinerary.
