White House

  • Since 1800, the White House has been the residence and place of work of the President of the United States of America and is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C.
  • The building was built by James Hoban in the Neoclassical and Palladian style of architecture influenced by the Roman architect Vitruvius.

Description

  • The White House Complex includes the West Wing (1901), the Oval Office (1909), the East Wing (1946), the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (1888), Blair House (1824-1860) and the President’s Park (1791).
