- Xanthos, also spelt Xanthus, was located on the river Esen Cayi and was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Lycia. It was an important city under the Romans.
- The Ruins of Xanthos are next to the village of Kinik in the Mediterranean Region of southern Turkey. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
