Zorats Karer (Carahunge) – The Armenian Stonehenge
Zorats Karer, also known as Carahunge or the Armenian Stonehenge, is an ancient archaeological site consisting of approximately 200 stone monoliths.

The monument is located near the village of Ishkhanasar in southern Armenia, set within a remote and historically significant landscape.
Age and Historical Significance
Archaeological studies suggest that Zorats Karer dates back to around 5,500 BCE, making it one of the oldest known megalithic complexes in the world.
Astronomical Features
Around 80 of the standing stones contain man-made holes, which researchers believe may have been used for astronomical observations, possibly tracking the movement of the sun, moon, or stars.
