- Aldborough is a village located on the river Ure, close to the A1M near Boroughbridge, in the County of North Yorkshire, where Dere Street crossed the River Ure,
- It is not to be confused with Aldeburgh in Suffolk.
History
- It was the Roman town of Isurium Brigantum, capital of the Brigantes, a British Tribe whose territory covered Yorkshire, Lancashire, Northumberland and Durham.
- It is listed in Iter I and Iter II of the Antonine Itinerary.
