Battle of Issus

• The Battle of Issus occurred on November 5th 333 BCE between the Greek Army of Alexander the Great and the Army of the Persian Empire under Darius III.
• The Battle took place at Issus, near the mouth of the River Pinarus, on the modern border between Syria and Turkey. The Army of Darius III was defeated.

Battle of Issus 194 CE

• Another Battle of Issus was won by Septimius Severus against Pescennius Niger during the Year of the Five Emperors in 194 CE.
