Boppard

  • Boppard, also spelt Boppart, is a town located in the Unesco World Heritage Site of the Rhine Gorge in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
  • It was the site of a Roman settlement called Baudobriga and a late 4th century CE Roman Fort whose walls are preserved.

The Boppard Bend

  • Boppard is famous for being on a very distinctive loop on the Rhine.
  • The Sesselbahn is a chairlift which runs from Boppard up to the Gedeonseck Rheinblick, an observation deck with a panoramic view over the Rhine Bend.
