Propertius

Sextus Propertius (c.50-45 BCE- c.15 CE) was a Roman Poet during the Golden Age (80 BCE-7 CE) of Roman Poetry.
He wrote in the Elegiac Couplet and produced four books of Elegies with up to 92 poems. In all his works he refers to the same single woman known as ‘Cynthia’.
