Propertius

  • Sextus Propertius (c.50-45 BCE- c.15 CE) was a Roman Poet during the Golden Age (80 BCE-7 CE) of Roman Poetry.
  • He wrote in the Elegiac Couplet and produced four books of Elegies with up to 92 poems. In all his works he refers to the same single woman known as ‘Cynthia’.
