Vaison-La-Romaine

  • Vasio Vocontiorum developed below the old tribal Oppidum during the 1st century CE, with the construction of Villas, a Theatre, two Aqueducts, Baths and a Bridge.
  • The Roman town was one of the richest cities in the Province of Gallia Narbonensis.
  • The Roman Bridge still connects the modern town with the old medieval citadel opposite.
