- Victoria was the Divine charioteer flying above the battlefields and rewarding the victors with a Laurel Wreath.
- The Goddess was frequently portrayed on Roman Coins, in the same way that Nike was portrayed on Greek coins.
Victoria Memorial, London
- The Queen Victoria Memorial is a white marble pylon surrounded by statues and topped with a gilt bronze statue of the Roman Goddess Victoria, also known as ‘Winged Victory’ or Nike in Greek Mythology.
- It is located in front of Buckingham Palace facing the Mall in London and was completed in 1924.
Wellington Arch
- Wellington Arch, previously known as Constitution Arch, is located on Hyde Park Corner in central London.
- It was originally modelled on the Arch of Titus in Rome, but then redesigned in a more splendid style, and completed in 1830 CE.
- Originally, it was topped by a giant statue of the Duke of Wellington, but this was replaced in 1912 by a Quadriga with Victoria.
Brandenburg Gate
- The Brandenburg Gate design was based on the Propylaea, the Gateway to the Acropolis in Athens, with the aim of portraying Berlin as the ‘new Athens’.
- It has five passageways through 12 Doric columns, topped by a Quadriga driven by the Goddess Nike also known as Victoria.
